Hello,
I'm Sophie, owner of Sophie & Co pet behaviour services. I am an animal behaviourists with over 7 years experience working with owners and their pets. I started my career with animals in the veterinary industry in 2018 and have been a registered veterinary nurse for 4 years. I have a passion for helping pets and their owners become more confident and able to have a positive relationship. For so many people, pets are a big part of their lives and their mental health is just as important as their physical health. My goal is to help support owners and their pets to work through behavioural concerns to create happier, healthier and enjoyable relationships.
I work with primarily dogs and cats but can also advise on issues with other pets. I have experience working through anxiety, reactivity, noise sensitivities, separations anxiety, resource guarding, obedience and other behavioural concerns. I am also able to apply my medical knowledge to behaviour cases as mental health is just as important as physical health.
Qualifications -
I have a bachelors degree in Applied Animal Behaviour from University Centre Sparsholt and am a member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Councilors
I have a foundation degree in Veterinary nursing from University Centre Sparsholt and am registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
I have a certificate in Canine fear and anxiety from Pet Education and Training
My approach is based on finding a solution that works for both you and your pet as every situation is different. I believe that animal behaviour is important throughout and animals life and changes can happen at any time. Therefore providing owners with a toolkit for supporting their animals behaviour helps to prevent, manage and improve behavioural concerns.
I am the owner of a Hungarian Vizsla called Maisie who suffers with anxiety related behavioural issues, I have made considerable progress with her over the last 4 years so that we both have a more enjoyable dog-owner relationship. I also own two cats, Crumble and Rhubarb who are hand rears that I have had since they were 2 days old and it has been fascinating to watch their development.
Please contact me if you would like advice on your pets behaviour.
I am a veterinary nurse from the new forest.
